چکیده

We consider a follow-up study in which an outcome variable is to be measured at fixed time points and covariate values are measured prior to start of follow-up. We assume that the conditional mean of the outcome given the covariates is a linear function of the covariates and is indexed by occasion-specific regression parameters. In this paper we study the asymptotic properties of several frequently used estimators of the regression parameters, namely the ordinary least squares (OLS), the generalized least squares (GLS), and the generalized estimating equation (GEE) estimators when the complete vector of outcomes is not always observed, the missing data patterns are monotone and the data are missing completely at random (MCAR) in the sense defined by Rubin [11]. We show that when the covariance of the outcome given the covariates is constant, as opposed to the nonmissing data case: (a) the GLS estimator is more efficient than the OLS estimator, (b) the GLS estimator is inefficient, and (c) the semiparametric efficient estimator in a model that imposes linear restrictions only on the conditional mean of the last occasion regression can be less efficient than the efficient estimator in a model that imposes article no. A Non-Random Dropout Model for Analyzing Longitudinal Skew-Normal Response

In this paper, multivariate skew-normal distribution is em- ployed for analyzing an outcome based dropout model for repeated mea- surements with non-random dropout in skew regression data sets. A probit regression is considered as the conditional probability of an ob- servation to be missing given outcomes. A simulation study of using the proposed methodology and comparing it with a semi-parame...

Robust Likelihood-based Analysis of Multivariate Data with Missing Values

The model-based approach to inference from multivariate data with missing values is reviewed. Regression prediction is most useful when the covariates are predictive of the missing values and the probability of being missing, and in these circumstances predictions are particularly sensitive to model misspecification. The use of penalized splines of the propensity score is proposed to yield robu...

Handling Missing Covariates in Conditional Mixture Models Under Missing at Random Assumptions.

Mixture modeling is a popular method that accounts for unobserved population heterogeneity using multiple latent classes that differ in response patterns. Psychologists use conditional mixture models to incorporate covariates into between-class and/or within-class regressions. Although psychologists often have missing covariate data, conditional mixtures are currently fit with a conditional lik...

Bayesian modelling strategies for spatially varying regression coefficients: A multivariate perspective for multiple outcomes

This paper considers modelling spatially varying regression effects for multivariate mortality count outcomes. Alternative approaches to spatial regression heterogeneity are considered: the multivariate normal conditional autoregressive (MCAR) model is contrasted with a flexible set of priors based on the multiple membership approach. These include spatial factor priors and a nonparametric appr...

Multivariate meta-analysis using individual participant data.

When combining results across related studies, a multivariate meta-analysis allows the joint synthesis of correlated effect estimates from multiple outcomes. Joint synthesis can improve efficiency over separate univariate syntheses, may reduce selective outcome reporting biases, and enables joint inferences across the outcomes. A common issue is that within-study correlations needed to fit the ...
